San Francisco's Exploratorium reopened on Wednesday, April 17, 2013. It had been at the Palace of Fine Arts, where it was founded, for more than 40 years, but this spring the science museum moved to Pier 15, where it tripled its space.
I weaseled my way into one of the opening parties, where I got this commemorative ceramic tile as a big of swag. The optical illusion tile had been around for a while, but I thought I'd post it, too, along with the explanation of the illusion and the ceramics manufacturer on the back.
