    We bought this sword around 1976. I have never had an appraiser look at it but there are good markings on the tang. I would love to know if I have a WWII sword or hopefully something older.

      I find the evaluations on the low side for some items but a great resource.

      This sword is in WWII fittings however it is not an issued sword, a lot of the officers would remove the issued sword and replace it with a family sword that their ancestors would have used in battle. It's hard to read the signature from your drawing, perhaps doing a charcoal rubbing on a piece of onion paper or a photo with a soft directional light could make it more legible.
