This is Pilgrim Glass handblown and iridized. Pilgrim rarely iridized. They made multitudes of products from their West Virginia factory in all kinds of colors but rarely iridized any at all. These three all have a sky blue glass base. Two with reeded handle and one with smooth. The smooth handle on these is extremely rare as this is the only one yet located. They are not technically carnival glass but true art glass. Carnival glass is pressed glass with some handwork shaping possibly but always pressed in a mold not mouth blown. The pattern has been misidentified as nuggat or nuggate in carnival glass reference books. Also, they had possible Mexican origins listed. These pieces in my collection have caused new editions of reference books to be issued with editing. After all, books have called these carnival glass or Mexican glass or never with smooth handle etc. Pilgrim glass may have rarely issued iridized glass but they did here. The pattern is properly identified as Rock Crystal. They made 14 different shapes and began making it in 1972. This rough texture pattern was made in at least 8 colors I know of including Pilgrims most famous color cranberry. Many of them still have the original labels from the factory. The colored pieces have smooth handles primarily but I have noted some with reeded handles. The reeded handle looks great and was well done. Non iridized colors include avacado, harvest gold, amber, cranberry, blue, orange, red and amberina. Shapes in this pattern I have identified so far are square, trapezoid, hexagon, rectangle, circle square, oval, necked oval, cylinder, diamond, six sided on end. They are primarily little pitchers but I have seen vases too.
