First of all, apologies for my absence here! Life has been getting in my way.
I have posted art glass by Yoshiki Ueno before and he remains one of my favourite Japanese glass artists.
This tea bowl was a delight to receive.
It's not very large, 12.5 cm wide, and is finely and beautifully made.
The millefiori are tiny, and the contrast of the mainly blue interior with the overlaid gold exterior is so lovely.
Finished with a deep crimson rim and applied foot.
It's typical of Ueno's style, skill, and attention to detail, and really showcases all of the great things about his art.
Great item to post for your return
Very nice!
Fantastic Ueno millefiori bowl Karen, beautiful colors, & it looks amazing both inside & out
I was checking a few days ago to see if you had at least made a comment on a Karen page and I was very worried because I saw that you were totally absent. I hope that the problems are not health problems of someone close to your affection or yours and that if so it has been resolved.
I too have missed you. The bowl has beautiful textures and image two shows it to perfection. Bowls can be difficult to display.
Thank you Vinyl and Bernard for commenting and loving.
Jenni, you know how I feel about you :)
Sylvia and Peggy, I’m sorry to have worried you and I am mainly well.
Thanks all for your love for this lovely bowl.
Wow Karen, this piece is super cool & it's also super cool to see you back on CW.
Missed you!!
(The canes in this remind me of a type of trade bead known as a Chevron. These are pretty rare & special. I did have a bit of a trade bead thing going on in the early 90s!)
This is BEAUTIFUL Karen!!!
A lot of work went into this bowl! Nice! Say, there used to be another Karen who posted to this list!
Thanks Marin, lovely to hear from you.
Yep, I think this bowl is wonderful
Thanks Scott, I have to agree.
Kevin, I know right? A ghost is here :)
