My great grandfather purchased this piece in the 1920’s for my grandmother in NY. She remembered he said it was old when he bought it, but I don’t know anything else about the piece. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Its probable it was made by Lane furniture who made so many of these type of cedar chests. They did make them in antique styles also, 1920's to 1950's. This was made in the 20th century and this style was still in use in the 50's. My mother had one and she bought hers in 1953 likely. Internet is rather new so they are not all on at same time. The style and construction puts this in the 2nd quarter, 20th century.

Def is 20th century, a lot of people add 50+ years to age if a grandfather had it. Those older people are ones with some money so they are still buying all the time.

Thank you! I do think the link is correct -it says 1920’s to 1930’s and she got it for her 16th birthday.Looks just like it!
