Pictured here is a colorful flowered 1929 calendar plate "COMPLIMENTS OF HOWARD & WEAVER" TUSCOLA, ILL. I am not a plate collector, but when I spotted this plate in a Goodwill Outlet bin I couldn't just leave it to be tossed around or broken. There are no chips or cracks on it. The colors are still bright with a gold color around the rim. It actually looks great in my "didn't need it" area. One person's junk is another person's treasure.

The thrill of the hunt continues.......

Did you have any information on "HOWARD & WEAVER"? You kind of left us hanging...

Indianabottlecollector, It isn't much, but I found this:

      *snip*

MARY TEETERS - My story of Tuscola starts in 1933, that is the year
I graduated from Tuscola High School.

      *snip*

There were a lot of grocery stores to pick from in down town Tuscola. Howard and Weaver, Hackleman’s, A&P, and the Grab-It-Here are four that I remember.

There are old pictures of the town in this section:

Or you could ask the tuscola dot org website if they have any more information about the Howard & Weaver store:

      Indianabottlecollector, You're welcome. :-)

Given the sole hit I found, I have to wonder whether Howard and Weaver was a strictly local business in Tuscola.

I also wonder whether artist Aaron Weaver who made this sesquicentennial logo is related to one of the H&W founders:
