So my friend and fellow junker gave me this brown ugly super heavy piece of pottery over a year ago. Today, I decided to try and clean it—was really trying to remove all the green gunk all over it. After soaking it in hydrogen peroxide and cleaning with a toothbrush the glaze has a sheen like glass.
Now that I’ve done a little research, it seems similar to antique Chinese pottery? It weighs almost 1.5 lbs and is applied 7.5”high and 5.5.” wide.
Any thoughts on the age/providence, or what it was likely used for? Any insight/feedback is appreciated. Thank you! Emily
