This stylized duck has a lot of character . . . I would not like to upset him if his aggressive threat posture is to be believed. The downward pointing elongated neck proves that he rules the pond. A range of pale to darker opalescent blue colour tone is seen in his neck and body - very opaque in his lower half. There are fine gold specks in beak and feet and the eyes are clear glass buttons. The base has been ground flat and he is very heavy. Maker is unknown but definitely comes from Murano, Italy. Height is 13 cms. Length from toe tip to tail end is 9.2 cms. Do you know who made him?

He is a feisty blue thing isn't he, racer4four? When I saw him on-line in America, I just had to bid. Some glass birds lack charisma or personality or quirkiness. However, this one is beyond the mundane and banal. I think he watches me from his lofty position on top of the china cabinet and is ready to peck if I go too close!
