Important colonial passport issued and used during and after WW2. Used by BOAC pilot serving in South Africa and the Middle East on flying-boats. Extensive travel to India, Iraq, Nigeria, South Africa and Egypt as well. Pilot was part of the famous "Horseshoe Route": Cairo-Sydney-Durban. Later routes included Lisbon-Gibraltar-Egypt via Malta, but was too risky due to fear of enemy attack, thus the long route via West Africa was chosen, using Lagos and landing at Khartoum. Extensive use as mentioned above, all pages fully stamped.

"CANCELLED" on this gave me a flashback. I was travelling in Cent. Amer. once with a passport that had that stamped on the 1st page. The immigration officer kept asking and pointing at the big RED "CANCELLED". I acted like I didn't understand Spanish until he got upset and I had a brainstorm. "Ah, CONSUL. Embassy". He seemed satisfied and stamped my PP and I walked out trying to keep from laughing ! I won't say what country. Nobody has ever asked about the Chichita banana stickers in my passports from places I avoided entering illegally. Found it is easier & cheaper to travel illegally ! LOL !!
