    Locle 5557 case, curious if any one knows the name of or recognizes the movement. Case is very worn most likely from the late 1800s. Not sure if the movement is original.

      I'm not an expert, but looking through some of my pocket watch books and trying to match the movement layout, the movement pictured here is very close to a Swiss watch, Huguenot & Co., chronograph, 3/4 plate, 51mm movement. Huguenin & Co. was founded by Adolphe Huguenin and the firm name was registered in 1880.
      The book I found this in is the, Complete Price Guide To Watches, NO.26, 2006 edition, page 502.
      This is just a suggestion to start your research, and is not a definite identification.

      ^ Yes! Thank you Dave. This must be it. Huguenin is even inscribed on the inside of the case, but just a search online was inconclusive so I figured it must have belonged to someone with that last name.
