    I found these at my favorite second-hand shop today. I think they are so beautiful! There are bats or butterflies in one of them and lots of flowers in the other. One has silver sequins sewn into it and the other doesn't. they are each about 16 inches square and there are many layers of detail in them. any idea where they are from or what they are for?

      thanks Newfld and Golgatha! they might be Persian. does anyone recognize the symbols in the green section of the second photo? I think that may be the clue to these panels.

      also, there are old copper and silver beads in the second photo.

      i found out that this is a Miao baby carrier from Guizhou Province in China. I found out through the Heritage Textiles website on FB.
