    I found this at Goodwill today. Some kind of cloisonne i think - made in Japan, i would guess. but i don't know anything else about it. there's no signature or any identifying mark that i can see.

      Beautiful Pete early to mid 20th, Japan akasuke (pigeon blood) ginbari (translucent enamel) cloisonne, with a lush rose bouquet.

      These were made for decades, they were so popular for export. There are maker's names such as Inaba and Sato that were marked, sometimes on the base rims.

      The type of metals used helps date them, this vase looks like nickel, so later. Thanks for posting.

      tod is it about the nickel or is it about flat or deep dimling ?
