    This is another of my early oriental embroidered tour jackets.

    This jacket is red silk. The front pockets and cuffs both carry the dragon motif.

    The back has a large USMC Eagle, Anchor & Globe insignia. The US Flag and Chinese National Flag flank EAG.

    The jacket was made in Peiping (Peking/ Beijing) China in 1946.

      Being 1946 it makes sense that this dragon style is close to the liberty cuffs from the early 1950s.

      The Dragons are also very similar to the style found on WW2 China Burma India (CBI) theater embroidered items. I have several scarfs dated from 1942 or 1943 with a similar dragon.
