I am trying to help a friend ID this piece, but I have no idea where to start. Does anyone have any idea of where or what this could be? It is carved out of a piece of wood. I know it looks like brass in the picture, but I assure you it is wooden. They quality of the carving is actually quite good, but it appears to be a decorative piece that is not too old. What do you all think?
