I found this by a creek in Mississippi.by looking at others posts, I feel like it's some kind of coral but I'd like to have someone else's take on it! It's made up of geometric shapes, mostly octagonal. It reminds me of a wasps nest.

Brain coral. A lot of it is found well inland from the Gulf coast. Much of it is fossilized.

A coral in the hexaganoria family, due to the general 6-sided colonies covering it.
