      Not a Chinese plate. Look at the mark, Google it.

      I have heard of the lord nelson pottery. The plate has the England mark so after 1891 ( just checked the date so your Ashworth plate should be before that date.)

      I did a quick Google search for Lord Nelson Pottery pieces with a mark like yours, and noticed that the first number was always in the range 1 to 12, suggesting that the 8-70 is the date code for October 1970. Also, the plate shows no crazing that older pottery always develops from expansion and contraction due to temperature changes.
