    This hand painted piece of porcelain has a finger hole, painted gold, and is signed on the painting. I cannot make out the name of the signature. It looks something like HE Channel or something.

      I think your leaf dish is hand painted by an amateur. Porcelain painting became a popular hobby for women in the Victorian era both in England and America. Many china manufacturers produced blank pieces for the enthusiasts, even competitions were held for the amateur china painters.
