      This is the 'Dakota' pattern by Ripley & Co., c.1885; AKA: Baby Thumbprint. Without measurements, I'd guess it's a ruby stained toothpick holder. Ruby stained toothpick holders were often popular as souvenirs with etchings.

      you're welcome. first glance I thought maybe Punty Band as it does look very similar.
